Father's Day 2025

A weekly dose of practical tips, honest moments, and gear recs for first-time dads raising daughters.

Happy Father’s Day!

Dad: A son's first hero, a daughter's first love.

Father’s Day hits different when you're a girl dad.

No one really prepares you for the emotional whiplash of hearing “Dada!” for the first time, or being told you’re brushing her hair “all wrong.”

But here you are.

Showing up.

Growing up.

Holding it down.

So this week, I put together a few things just for you, the dads doing the diaper changes, snack duty, bedtime books, dance lessons, and everything in between.

Dad-to-Dad Wisdom

Here’s a quick thought I’ve been holding close lately:

“You’re not just raising a daughter. You’re modeling the kind of man she’ll believe in.”

It’s easy to forget that the little things (how we speak to her, how we handle frustration, how we treat others) are shaping her idea of love, respect, and what’s possible in a partner… and in herself.

You don’t have to be perfect.

You don’t need all the answers.

But your presence? That always matters.

So keep showing up. Keep putting your phone down. Keep playing pretend when you're exhausted, and giving hugs even when you're running late.

She’s watching.

She’s learning.

And to her, you’re already the example she’ll measure the world against.

You’re doing better than you think.

She sees you.

Dad Hacks & Tips

When in doubt, narrate your day.

Whether she’s 3 weeks old or 3 years old, hearing your voice helps her feel safe, seen, and connected.

You don’t need to say anything profound, just talk through what you're doing:

“Alright, we’re grabbing your shoes. Now we’re opening the door. Oof, it’s chilly! Let’s find your jacket.”

Turns out, you’re not just filling silence.

You’re building language skills, emotional connection, and trust, one sentence at a time.

Dad Gear Check

Trending products dads love.

All-Terrain Double-Seater Wagon Stroller

What it is: A rugged, two-kid wagon stroller with shock-absorbing wheels, UV canopy, and more compartments than my dad brain can remember.

Why I like it: This thing is the Cadillac of kid haulers. It folds up easy, fits in the trunk, and has wheels beefy enough to conquer playground mulch and rogue sidewalk cracks.

The adjustable handle lets you push like a stroller or pull like you're leading a toddler-powered parade.

Bonus: The built-in storage is clutch. You can pack snacks, diapers, emergency wipes, and still have space for her rock collection (that we’re definitely not bringing home, but always do).

360° Double-Sided Magnetic Art Easel

What it is: A rotatable, double-sided art easel with a dry-erase board and chalkboard, complete with all the painting and drawing tools a mini Picasso could dream of.

Why I like it: This thing flips, spins, and keeps them busy for longer than 3 minutes, a miracle in my house.

One side is perfect for watercolors and dry-erase doodles, the other for chalk masterpieces (or whatever that abstract scribble is).

Bonus: It doubles as a portable distraction during family dinners, camping trips, and those “I just need five minutes” moments.

A Toast to You, Dad

You may not always get it right.

You may not always feel like you’re enough.

But to that little girl reaching for your hand, climbing into your lap, or whispering “I love you, Daddy”…

You are everything.

You are safety. You are comfort. You are love in its most dependable form.

So today isn’t just Father’s Day.

It’s a reminder that your presence is the gift she’ll carry forever.

You’re doing better than you think.

👋 Until Next Week...

You’ve got this, Dad.

Even if you questioned everything and Googled half of it.
